a new home

A few hours before leaving on a plane to the USA, we negotiated with the landlord of our new home.  The boys will move in while I am gone.  The landlord needs to get the well fixed so that we can have some water... (hopefully!)  Here's a few photos!  (the stuff isn't ours!)

Easter

Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Christ is risen!  He is risen indeed!  Christ is risen!  He is risen indeed!

This was the Easter greeting/cry of the early New Testament Church, and it was heard throughout the streets of Kathmandu today!  What a remarkable thing!  Starting at 5 am, we heard Christians singing, then at 8 am, Nepali believers took to the streets in peaceful walks, singing their way to Easter rallies -- it was also Nepal's "Democracy Day" -- to celebrate freedom in the land of Nepal -- to choose their own leaders, and make decisions, together, as a nation... .  I love this place!

Goodbye Pokhara!

Our last day in Pokhara..
I went for a jog along the lake
sidewalks!
.

PKH city development has created not only a running trail around the lake
(not all the way), but also has set aside land for fish farming...

Goodbye...see you soon, then!

Fishtail mountain (again!) peeking out on the last day

Some of our good friends, Sumjhanna, Runjanna and Rabindra.
amazing family... the dad, Birbahadur, had already gone to work...

Hello, Himal!

Today, after a good, long rain... Machapuchre and the Annapurnas peeked out from behind the clouds... Well, Hello!
Machapuchre (Fishtail) Mountain...

Annapurna Range

Machapuchre, again!  We love this mountain!

Fewa Tal...

Here in Pokhara, one of the best things is sitting by the lake (Fewa Tal)...

A view of the lake and fishermen...

A Tibetan girl trying to sell things to Michael at lakeside...

Sarongkot!

Overlooking the Pokhara Valley, is a "foothill" named, Sarongkot.  We went there today!
Here's a view of "Fewa Tal" (Pokhara's lake) from the other side.
This is the first time we've travelled to this side of the lake!  There's a road now!

The Pokhara Valley from Sarongkot!

The "saving frog" goes to Pokhara!

Yesterday, we took a bus to beautiful Pokhara!  The "saving frog" went with us!

We were in the very front of the bus;
the driver is behind the glass; I think the "sf" wanted to drive!

closeup!

The "Trisulli River" - We rafted it years ago, when K "fell out" of the raft!
But the faithful Trisulli kept her up!

Dal bhat at the midway point.  The "saving frog" was hungry!

so was Michael!

a shelf, tables and chairs, oh my!

Today, during my meeting on the white paper here, our long awaited shelf arrived...

Now we have a place to put our dishes!
And... our dining table (with 6 chairs, but Michael already stole one for his room!) arrived!
thanks to my dear husband, for the early birthday & mother's day gifts...
